Max (HBO) Harry Potter TV Series

HBO Max has formally ordered a TV show based on the well-known Harry Potter books, the

streamer announced on Wednesday, 12 April, 2023. This announcement came at a press

conference hosted by parent company Warner Bros Discovery, in which was stated that HBO

Max and Discovery+ will combine to form one streaming service named Max.And while

preparing to launch this service, Warner Bros, has reportedly been on the cusp of developing a

Harry Potter TV show for a number of years.

According to the description, the project will be a "faithful adaptation" of each of J.K. Rowling's

seven Harry Potter novels, with a 10-year runtime anticipated. (It's unclear at this time if that

translates to 10 seasons or just a 10-year run for the series.). But it could be that the new

stories will start to emerge to correspond with the events of the novels and the ensuing movies.

According to Bloomberg, Warner Bros. and HBO plan to "delve further into the world of

Rowling's books" by extending the seasons' plotlines.

HBO(Max) announced that: “Each season will be authentic to the original books and bring Harry

Potter and these incredible adventures to new audiences around the world, while the original,

classic and beloved films will remain at the core of the franchise and available to watch globally.”

And the boss of HBO, Casey Bloys had this to add: “We are delighted to give audiences the

opportunity to discover Hogwarts in a whole new way. Harry Potter is a cultural phenomenon

and it is clear there is such an enduring love and thirst for the Wizarding World. In partnership

with Warner Bros. Television and J.K. Rowling, this new Max Original series will dive deep into

each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy for all of these years.”

J. K. Rowling will act as the series' executive producer in order to ensure that the overall

concept of the show stays true to her original books, but not as its showrunner or primary

creator. David Heyman, who worked on all eight Harry Potter movies' production, is in

discussions to join her. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint were the stars of the

Harry Potter movies, but it is unknown if any of the three will return for the new series, or even if

the program will feature any of their characters.

Note: Don’t worry about the controversies, only the world of Harry Potter. Love the creation!
