According to certain people, a television adaptation of the 2013 action-horror hit World
War Z is in the works, with Brad Pitt serving as producer. Apple has given the zombie
show the go-ahead.
There are still many questions about the World War Z series, including whether or not
Brad Pitt will return to the 2013 film's character as former UN investigator Gerry Lane.
We also don't know if the Apple television series will be a sequel or a new chapter in the
movie's narrative. Either scenario appears plausible given Brad Pitt's involvement and
the movie's reception among viewers.
The 2013 film World War Z, which is based on the 2006 Max Brooks book of the same
name, ends with humanity securing some hope for the future. Uninfected people are
rendered invisible to zombie hordes by a vaccine, but the hordes still exist. While the
vaccination makes it simpler for the military to combat the infected, the film's conclusion
shows them facing an uphill battle.
A sequel to World War Z was not only implied by the plot, but also appeared to be
assured by the $540 million in box office receipts. David Fincher, who worked with Brad
Pitt on Se7en and Fight Club, was once set to helm a sequel, but Paramount shelved
the project. So many reasons for this, true reason unknown?
Beyond Brad Pitt, we don't yet know who else will contribute artistically to the show. It
would appear doubtful that David Fincher will join the project, though, given his
exclusive contract with Netflix.
If they resemble the infected from the film, the fundamental distinction between the
zombies in the Apple show and most depictions of zombies is that the former are not
shambling, slow-moving creatures. The franchise's infected move surprisingly quickly
and congregate like insects to approach their prey.
Can’t wait for this. I would soooo watch this series.
